Stamping

Stamping or pressing is a means of metal fabrication that uses tool and die surfaces to form precise metal shapes, typically from flat sheet metal. We use either a single-stage, or a multi-stage process to consistently create the desired shape.

The Hermetic Solution Group’s metal stamping capabilities are used across a variety of materials, including Kovar, cold rolled steel and stainless steel and across a number of applications. Our stamped flat lids – either for use alone or as part of our solder seal lid offering, domed lids and drawn covers are used in a variety of industries, including defense and aerospace, energy, medical, optical networking and others. Stamped lids are used when our customer uses a welding process for sealing hermetic packages.

We have extensive capacity and many years of experience across multiple facilities and utilize a variety of sheet-metal forming processes such as punching, blanking, embossing, bending, flanging and coining. Our hydraulic and mechanical presses are staffed by experienced operators who ensure these products are produced efficiently and accurately.
